I have a list of great ideas that will help you achieve those results with very little time.
Eyes:
Celebrities always use an eye shadow primer or some kind of foundation on their eyelids. This gives the shadow something to hold on to. When choosing eye shadows, choose at least three variations of the same shade or in the same neutral color pallet.
To emphasize the shape of the eyes and make them stand out, put the lightest color on your brow bone, right under the eyebrow, and the medium shade on the eye lid. Always use the darkest color in the crease of the eyelid to emphasize them and make them pop out and get noticed.
Some Celebrities like to line the inner rim of the eyes with a white eye pencil as this makes eyes appear bigger. You can also apply clear or shimmery lip gloss on your eyelids to give them a little more shine and sparkle.
Another trick to make your eyes appear bigger is to put a little shimmery powder on the brow bone. This always makes your eyes more noticeable. To have a less severe look, take a q-tip and smudge the eyeliner till you achieve the look you are looking for. This is also a great tip to get the smokey affect.
Cat eyes used to be the fad many years ago with celebrities and the way to achieve this look is to use dark black or brown eyeliner and drag it past the outer edge and have it turn up slightly. Be sure to smudge it slightly, so it will set up and not smear.
Celebrity’s eyelashes are always a main focus of makeup artists. First curl your eyelashes before applying mascara to get the best length and curl. Take a brush and then brush the lashes with a little bit of powder and your eyelashes will look much thicker, longer and darker after applying your mascara.
Be sure to put two coats on, to maximize your lashes and make them as clump free as possible. Between applications is the best time to get rid of those clumps. If you have very little eyelashes to work with, try using false eyelashes. Celebrities use these on special occasions but they have found that dark eyelash glue works best. Another alternative to getting longer eyelashes are the new eyelash conditioners on the market. Jan Marini Age Intervention Eyelash works very well.
Eyebrows
Eyebrows can really make a dramatic difference in celebrity’s appearance so they want to make sure the shape and color is perfect. The best brand of tweezers used by celebrities is the Tweezerman brand. Always make sure you tweeze the hairs under the arch of the brow as well as other stray hairs in the eye area.
To fill in the eyebrow area, use taupe or blond eyebrow pencil if you are a blond or redhead and light brown to medium brown for brunettes. The only time you should use a dark brown pencil is if you have black hair.
Black is too severe and should always be avoided. To keep brows under control, use a brow sealant. This helps celebrities keep their lashes in place all day.
Face
Concealers are a celebrity’s favorite product. You can use an eye shadow brush to apply it and always apply it in thin layers. Eventually the blemish is covered and not very visible. Usually concealer is applied before you apply your foundation. If you find that you have really red blemishes, try using a green concealer. This helps keep the redness under control and minimized.
Many celebrities have their favorite brands of makeup and foundation, and one of them is Laura Mercier. Try using a sponge to get a natural look. If you really want the celebrity look, you should wear a foundation primer after applying your moisturizer and before applying your foundation. This really gives your skin tone a good balance and also keeps your foundation in place.
It might not be financially responsible for you to purchase the same products that celebrities purchase, but many department brands, such as Revlon Color Stay Foundation with Soft-flex, gives you a celebrity finished look and also come in many different shades.
Celebrities almost always use translucent powder or a color matching their skin. Apply it with a puff and then use a big fat brush to dust it away. You can also apply it with the big brush, but always shake the brush first to make sure you don't have too much powder on it.
A really popular way of controlling oily skin is to use blotting papers. Pressed powder works well too but if you have really dry skin, you might want to avoid using powders altogether.
When purchasing blush, try to find blush that compliments your skin color and gives you a natural healthy glow. Some makeup artists prefer gel blush but it is all personal preference. Apply blush to the apples of your cheeks in a circular motion or apply it in a sweeping motion from the apples of the cheeks to the hairline. A popular brand, such as Nars blush in Torrid, is a celebrity favorite and gives your skin a natural and glowing finish.
Lips
To finish off the celebrity look, you need to find a really great lip color that compliments your skin color as well as looking natural. MAC makes a great lip liner in Spice that looks the most like the natural lip color. This is one of the Celebrity favorites along with lip-plumping products which have become a staple in the celebrity circles.
Good Housekeeping has given awards to products like Lip-Fusion and City Lips. These are also lip-plumping products. If you want your bottom lip to look a little fuller, add a little lip gloss in the center of the bottom lip.
