I have some really great basic tips for applying eye makeup that will give you so many great looks for daytime as well as nighttime.

You can have very natural eyes, smokey eyes or seductive eyes as well as radiant looking eyes by applying shadows with a little gold or metallic finish.

First:  Decide the look that you want.  Pick three eyeshadow colors.

1 - Always have a light shade for your highlights.  These can be shiny or matte, metallic or pale colors.
2-  You want to choose a medium shade that you will use as your main color.
3-  You will want to choose a dark shade for the shadow in your crease.

Second:  Apply eye makeup

Make sure you have a clean face, apply moisturizer then, apply your foundation to your entire face, including your eyes.

I recommend that you apply an eyelid primer to your whole eye, from lash to brow to make your eye makeup last longer.

Next, apply your medium shade of shadow to your lids of your eyes with a sponge or makeup brush.

With your eyeliner, start with the inner corner of your eye and draw a line as close to your upper lash-line as possible. Work your way to the outer corner of your eye.

If you are wanting a sexy or smokey look, draw a thicker line.  Take the liner and draw a line on the lower lash line as well.  You can use a sponge or q-tip to smudge the line a little if you want a more blended natural look.

Once you have applied your liner, go back over it with an eyeliner sponge or brush that is lightly loaded with dark eyeshadow.

You are now ready to apply the dark eyeshadow to the crease of your eye to make your eyes look naturally deeper.

Use a light shadow or highlight to accentuate the brow bone.

Dab a little of the light eyeshadow to the center of the lid, beneath the crease.

Once you are finished applying your shadows, go over the eyelid with a larger brush to blend all of the shadows together to eliminate lines.

Apply mascara on your upper and lower lashes for a finished look.  You might want to use a large brush again, to get rid of any flakes or residue from your mascara.
